EXTRAORDINARY START TO THE 53RD TROFEO DELLE INDUSTRIE

The 53rd Trofeo delle Industrie kicked off with the best premises at the the South Garda Karting circuit.

The Trofeo delle Industrie has officially begun at South Garda Karting in Lonato with the official qualifying practices and the first eliminatory heats, immediately characterized by intense competition and spectacle.

The event, organized by Parma Motorsport and included in the international FIA Karting calendar, features 280 registered drivers from no less than 41 nations and six categories: from the smallest MINI U10 and MINI Gr.3, to the two crowded national categories OK-N and OK-NJ, the international OKJ, and finally the highest-performance KZ2 category, which includes World and European Champions.

KZ2 – Orlov shows his potential

In the KZ2 class, the category’s European and World Champion, Maksim Orlov (CPB Sport-Sodi/TM Kart/Vega), showed his potential by taking the overall pole position in Session-2 with a time of 45.421s.

In Session-1, the young German driver Maximilian Schleimer (Maranello Kart-Maranello/TM Kart) managed to surprise with a time of 45.479s, incredibly matching the exact same time as the Italian Danilo Albanese (Dorr Motorsport-KR/Iame). The tie-breaker gave the pole to the German driver, but the result reveals a situation of absolute uncertainty.

Among the top performers in Session-1, Cristian Bertuca (KCS-Birelart/TM Kart), the winner of the last edition, confirmed his form with the third-fastest time, just 0.034s off the leading duo. In Session-2, behind Orlov, the Swedish driver Norton Andreasson (Ward Racing-Sodi/TM Kart) slotted in 0.178s back, followed by the German driver Daniel Stell (Kartshop-Birelart/TM kart) at 0.180s and Italian Giuseppe Palomba (Maranello Kart-Maranello/TM Kart) at 0.187s.

OKJ – Samczyk takes the pole by 0.025s.

In the OKJ class, the Polish driver Remiguisz Samczyk (Forza Racing-Exprit/TM Kart/Vega) stood out with the best qualifying time of 47.509s, followed by his Ukrainian teammate Nikita Botte just 25 thousandths behind.

They were trailed by Finnish driver Max Sulin (Sulin-OTK/TM Kart) at 99 thousandths, the French driver Zack Zhu (Lenovo Kalì Kart/Kalì Kart/TM Kart) at 0.149s, Antonio Pizzonia (Ward Racing-Tony Kart/TM kart) at 0.151s, and Cristian Blandino, racing with Tellone Motorsport on KR/Iame, at 0.165s.

OK-N – Marchesi immediately under the spotlight.

The fastest driver in OK-N was Nicolas Marchesi (Team Driver-KR/Iame/MG). The Italian driver secured the best time in Session-2 with a 47.344s, while in Session-1, another Italian, Matteo Melis (TB Kart Racing Team-TB Kart/LKE), prevailed with a 47.508s.

The category is decidedly fiercely contested; in Session-1, Andrea Barbieri (Zanchi Motorsport-Tony Kart/TM Kart) finished just 0.034s behind Melis, followed by Lorenzo D’Amico (LA Motorsport-Tony Kart/Parolin/TM Kart) at 36 thousandths, and Federico Rossi (AKM Motorsport-Parolin/TM Kart) at 92 thousandths.

In Session-2, behind Marchesi, the Romanian driver Jercan Tudor (Gulstar Racing-KR/Iame) was 0.038s behind, with Riccardo Ferrari (M2 Racing-Gillard/TM Kart) at 44 thousandths, and Leonardo Dondi (King Racing Team-KR/Iame) at 0.210s.

OK-NJ – Puligheddu has the upper hand by 0.008s.

There was an exciting battle in the OK-N Junior class, where the fight for pole position came down to the Italian driver Alex Puligheddu and the Spaniard Bruno Grelling.

Puligheddu, a Genoa resident originally from Sardinia racing for NGM Motorsport (IPK/Iame/MG), secured the absolute best time in Session-2 with a 48.056s. In Session-1, Grelling (Energy Corse-Energy/Iame) posted a 48.064s, ending just 8 thousandths of a second behind.

Among the fastest in Session-1, the British driver Austin Newstead (Forza Racing-Exprit/TM Kart) finished 63 thousandths behind Greiling. In Session-2, the Italian Tiberius Muller (Beyond Racing Team-LN/Modena Engines) slotted in 55 thousandths behind Puligheddu.

MINI Gr.3 – Ratajski leads by a narrow margin.

In the single session run for MINI Gr.3, the French driver Stan Ratajski (BabyRace-Parolin/Iame/MG) asserted himself with a time of 53.267s. However, it was a narrow lead over the Romanian Adam Pirvu (CRG Racing Team-T-Group/TM Kart), who finished 0.125s behind.

They were followed by the Italians Victor Thomas Gorun (Tony Kart Racing Team-Tony Kart/Vortex) at 0.227s, Giuseppe Noviello at 0.253s, and Marco Verde at 0.297s, the latter two racing with Team Driver on KR/Iame.

MINI U10 – Stec and Kovtunenko top the two sessions.

In the MINI U10 class, the Polish driver Filip Stec (Energy Corse-Energy/Iame/MG) and the Ukrainian Platon Kovtunenko (Borsch Racing-KR/Iame) achieved the best performances across the two sessions, respectively posting a 53.693s and a 53.743s.
